Experienced Professionals Need Career Services Too

An increasing number of business schools are offering their alumni the opportunity to participate in online resume books – and put their names in front of thousands of virtual recruiters seeking both talented students and experienced candidates.

Over the past year, some 30 MBA programs have begun promoting participation in specialized online resume books for their alumni, and the number is growing rapidly. Collectively these elite schools have registered over 45,000 business leaders, including over 18,000 experienced alumni.

The addition of alumni candidates enables schools to concurrently serve both former and current students, and ultimately receive well-deserved credit for connecting employer and candidate. Through increasing the total number of candidates – and creating the only single source of access to full-time, part-time and EMBA students as well as the growing number of experienced MBA leaders – MBA Focus and its partner schools draw a large number of recruiters to these online resume books.

With the general economic uncertainty surrounding the market today, many experienced professionals have become job seekers and are turning to their Career Services Office for help and assistance. By participating in the school’s online resume book, they are able to connect with top global employers either actively or passively.

In tough economic times, resume books are a terrific recruiting enhancement for firms as well. It allows hiring managers to efficiently and cost-effectively filter candidates from their office before making on campus visits. Because of the recent events on Wall Street, many companies have been forced to slash recruiting budgets and trim down spending for on-campus recruiting. However, most companies agree that online resume books are among the most cost-efficient recruitment tool available today and that virtual recruiting is the future of the industry.
