Alumni Fortify Online Resume Books

An increasing number of schools are offering their alumni the opportunity to participate in online resume books – and put their names in front of recruiters seeking experienced candidates to fill the talent shortage.

Over the past year, some 20 school partners have begun promoting participation in specialized online resume books for alumni. And more than 13,000 alumni are currently enrolled.

The addition of alumni candidates enables schools to concurrently serve both former and current students and, ultimately receive well-deserved credit for connecting employer and candidate. Through increasing the total number of candidates – and creating the only single source of access to full-time, part-time and EMBA students as well as the growing number of experienced MBA leaders – MBA Focus and participating schools draw the maximum number of recruiters to the online resume books.

“We believe the database is a safe, confidential channel for our alumni to reach employers and find out about available positions,” said Matthew Temple, director of alumni career services for Kellogg School of Management. Over the past year, Kellogg has attracted approximately 1400 alumni to its online resume book.

MBA Focus guided many of the schools through the launch of their alumni registration programs and has established an alumni outreach team to help schools institute and market the program. The team introduces John Edwards, vice president, marketing, who helps schools promote the value of participation to alumni.
